Tarmac secures road resurfacing contract for Kent

Tarmac has successfully bid for a three-month road resurfacing contract worth around £1.5 million for Kent Highway Services (KHS).

The agreement will see Tarmac's National Contracting division - the UK's leading road contracting and maintenance firm - deliver 26 highway repair projects ranging from resurfacing works to road improvements.

The contract will see Tarmac using recycled technologies and materials wherever possible along with new product innovations developed by Tarmac's in-house technical team, to help KHS deliver more sustainable highways improvements.

Tarmac's team will be led by Rod Calder, National Contracting director for the South East. Rod commented: "Tarmac has unrivalled experience in managing contracts like this, and we are particularly interested in working together to deliver environmental targets as well as cost savings. We have enjoyed a positive working relationship with Kent Highway Services in the past, and look forward to developing this further over the course of this new contract."

The contract will start at the beginning of January 2009.
